University admissions mentorship · UK · US · Asia

One mentor. A handful of students. Built to get them further.

Bridging Beyond is a small, selective mentorship for students aiming at Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial and the world's top universities. Founded and led by a Cambridge engineer, with a small team of Cambridge mentors.

Who we work with

Selective, on purpose.

We take a small number of students each year, so every one of them gets real attention, not a slot in a timetable.

We look for students who want this: curious, hard-working, and driven to go further. We're not the right fit for a student being pushed into it. That isn't a judgement. It's just that this work only goes well when the student is the one who wants it.

We will never write a student's application for them. We'll show them exactly what's weak and why, and help them make it theirs.

What we help with

Where students are heading.

01 · UK

Oxford, Cambridge & Imperial

Course choice, personal statement, admissions tests and interviews, plus the strongest Russell Group options alongside.

02 · US

Top US universities

School list, Common App essays, supplements and timelines, including applying to the UK and US in the same year.

03 · Asia & worldwide

Singapore, Hong Kong & beyond

NUS, NTU, HKU and leading universities in China and Canada, as part of a balanced list.

04 · Projects

Project mentorship

Real engineering and research projects, built, tested and written up. The thing that makes an application true, not just well written.

Approach

Four stages. Each one is real work.

01 / Diagnose

Find out what's actually there

We go through what the student has done, read and can genuinely defend. Most arrive with more material than they realise, and a worse idea of which parts matter.

02 / Build

Make something worth writing about

A real project, a build, a piece of code, an experiment, taken through design, failure and measurement. This is the part almost nobody offers.

03 / Write

Get it onto the page

Personal statements and essays, drafted by the student and pushed hard by us. We show what a weak sentence looks like and why. We don't write it for them.

04 / Defend

Say it out loud, under pressure

Admissions test practice and mock interviews with written feedback, run the way the real ones are. Every claim on the page is a question waiting to be asked.

Questions

Things parents usually ask.

How many students do you take?

A deliberately small number each year. When we're full, we're full. We'd rather turn work away than run sessions we haven't prepared for.

Will you write my child's personal statement or essays?

No. We'll show them exactly which sentences are weak and why, and what a better version looks like, and they write it. Universities interview from the statement, and anything a student didn't write will find them out.

Do you work with international students?

Yes. Sessions are online, and we already work with students and families across several time zones.

Which subjects do you cover?

Engineering, physics, maths, computer science and psychology are our core. For other subjects we'll tell you honestly whether we're the right people, and point you elsewhere if not.

When should we start?

Earlier than most people think. Students who start in Year 11 or early Year 12 have time to build something real before they have to write about it. Later starts are still possible, but there's less room to build.

How much does it cost?

Programmes are shaped around each student's destinations and timeline, so we talk it through on the first call and follow up in writing. No obligation either way.
